Professional biography
Valentina Fratini Lyndon is an Italian writer, screenwriter and director.
For more than twenty years she has told stories through novels, cinema, television and theatre, convinced that narrative has the power to transform how we see ourselves and the world.
A graduate in International Law, she chose to devote her professional life to writing, developing more than forty audiovisual projects over the course of her career, including films, television series and original formats. She has collaborated with Italian networks and production companies, exploring genres ranging from fantasy to comedy, from family drama to thriller.
She refined her training through specialist screenwriting and storytelling programmes, including RaiScript and CentroLab, studying with authors and professionals such as Francesco Scardamaglia, Domenico Starnone and Andrea Purgatori.
For five editions she was selected by the CinemAvvenire Cultural Association for the Young Jury of the Venice International Film Festival. In 2010 she also directed the Italian Heritage and Arts multimedia exhibition at the Italian Pavilion of the Shanghai International Expo.
In publishing she is the author of the Aura Miller fantasy saga, a series for young readers that weaves adventure, imagination and personal growth. With over 10,000 copies sold, the saga has earned major national recognition: Aura Miller and the Secret of Drema was shortlisted for the Strega Ragazze e Ragazzi Prize, won the Città di Ladispoli National Literary Prize and has been adopted by numerous schools; Aura Miller and the Realm of Etrom was shortlisted for the Gianni Rodari Prize.
Alongside her literary work, she writes and directs theatre and film projects and teaches through courses and workshops dedicated to narrative, theatrical and audiovisual writing.
At the heart of her work is the belief that stories are not only meant to entertain, but can help people recognise their fears, rediscover their desires and imagine new possibilities.
